Tips for Hosting a Great Kids Halloween Party
Halloween doesn’t need to be scary to be fun. Stimulate your guests’ senses in an age appropriate way and your party is sure to be the hit of Halloween!
Stimulate their sense of Sight:
Stimulate the kids’ senses of sight by making simple, classic decorations. Create some white ghosts with smiles, cartoon spiders, candy corns and bright orange pumpkins rather than scary monsters and vampires.
Provide Hands On Activities:
Do provide some hands-on activities. Have the kids do a craft, like paint a pumpkin or decorate sugar cookies cut out in the shapes of pumpkins, cats or broomsticks.
Let the kids use their noses:
Get them to use the sense of smell by burning an apple or harvest scented candles (out of the reach and sight of the children of course) or by dipping cotton balls is scented oils and again placing them out of reach and sight of children. Filling your home with the scent of a fresh baked apple pie can also do the trick.
Let them use the sense of hearing:
Play kid friendly Halloween music. Nothing scary! You don’t want to make the kids feel afraid of monsters popping out of nowhere.
