Preparing for Summer Vacations
Our family is more of a go-with-the-flow kind of family. One day might be the beach, the next day may be camping or gardening. Either way, there are lots of things to prepare for over the summer holidays.
Have you ever tried to prepare for holidays last minute? Impromptu vacation are all fun and games when your a college student but once you have a family, giving yourself enough time to prepare is an important step. So let’s get moving!
If you plan to go away this summer, it’s a good idea to find out where the place you want to go is. (Kind of of duh! Right?). I mean, really do some research of the place. Find out what the tourist attractions are. The more you know about the area, the better prepared you will be to enjoy the trip.
If you are working, talk to the boss and make double sure that you arrange and get confirmation that the days you booked off are still yours. The regular two week notice thing isn’t the best idea when it comes to planning your vacation. Give them a reminder at least once a month till you leave for your holidays. Here is a good tip. Always figure out and book your flights/rentals early. There are a couple of reasons for this. First, your tickets will be cheaper if you pre-order them. Second, you want to make sure that your seats or desired rentals don’t fill up, forcing you to reschedule your whole vacation. (We all know how much of a pain in the arse that is!)
Another great tip; if you are planning to get a hotel, book it right after you book your flights. Figure out where your hotel is and if it’s by the beach or the railroad track. You just never know! You may want to spend a little time researching the activities and other fun things you plan to do while on vacation. Finding out the fees for the activities will ensure you don’t run out of a budget before the trip is over and if you book early enough, you can often get the better deal!
