5 Tips for Getting Kid’s Organized in the Morning
There are things we can do as parents to try and get the kids ready and out the door on time, (more or less) in the mornings. Here are a few great tips to help that happen.
Morning Tip #1: Getting up Earlier
As redundant as this sounds, getting the kids up 15 minutes earlier will make a big difference! It may take time to get the kids on the new routine but it is necessary sometimes. Getting up earlier will also give everyone a bit more time to get the sleep out of their eyes.
Morning Tip #2: Make Breakfast the Night Before
Again, it may take some time to get into a routine but making a breakfast the night before will save you time and decrease the likelihood that you’ll lose track of time and skip breakfast all together. There are some really great overnight crock pot breakfast meals you can prepare the night before.
Morning Tip #3: Write Out a Routine
It helps to write out (maybe on a big dry erase board) a routine for the mornings. Things like; eat breakfast, brush teeth, get into school clothes, etc. This makes is easier for older kids to easily check to see if they have missed anything.
Morning Tip #4: Find Shoes the Night Before
Have your kids find their shoes the night before. This way, you and the kids aren’t frantically searching for shoes mere minutes before your kids need to be on the bus.
Morning Tip #5: Always Make Sure There is Time for Cuddles
When my girl was younger, I noticed that if I didn’t set aside a minute or two just to hug her in the mornings her day wouldn’t go so well. If you make time and even if its only for a minute, hug your child and their day will go better because you took that time to focus on them during your busy schedules.
